Gen-Probe introduserer PANTHER; et system som er designet for tilby molekylærdiagnostiske laboratoriene et instrument med samme kraft og enkelhet som helautomatiske klinisk kjemi-instrumenter.

PANTHER er laget som et "sample-in result-out" instrument. Batchvis prosessering av prøver bortfaller, og alle aspekter i nukleinsyretestingen automatiseres i én enkelt, integrert plattform. Instrumentets omfattende liste over funksjoner inkluderer toveis LIS-kommunikasjon, mulighet for testing for flere analytter fra samme prøve, positiv prøveidentifikasjon, random access, og  ekte walkaway frihet.
